Just thought I'd share what's been going on with my ST24 since I proceeded to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! my favourite thing in the world. I'm still so pissed off about this and having no car is really starting to take its toll, it's so shit :(

Luckily for me, my mother's boyfriend happens to be a suspension mechanic so I have access to free labour and expertise. That's where the good news ends though. After finally having the chance to get the wheel off, things look worse than first thought. The control arm is bent like a fucking pretzel at one end.

One of the other rods that is supposed to be straight to hold the wheel in alignment is now also bent as fuck. I have to wait and see if my personal suspension wizard is able to undo the mess I've made to my Ford... The only positive is that I got to wrench a little on my car for the first time, which was a good experience.

Any other casualties besides those two parts?

Nah, it doesn't look like it... In some respects I got out of it quite lucky, it's just that I'm 18 so I haven't really got any money to fix anything haha

Good that damage is only limited to suspension arms. The alignment might be the most expensive to solve but it depends what you promised to your family mechanic for the help...

Me and my friends have a track day CRX. It has been crashed pretty heavily in its former life. The suspension mounting points have moved quite much in the rear left corner. We had to resort of making couple of bolt holes oblong but the wheel alignment is still a bit off.

You can probably find the parts for cheap at a junkyard. I bet boyfriend would help you at a pick and pull.

The bad part about that is my car is 1 of 84 ever sold here (Australia). Parts for these are extremely hard to come by. We're trying to bend the arms back, if not, it's off to Ebay to get parts from the UK.

I was very lucky. Yeah I've been told an alignment may me necessary. Unfortunately that will have to be done elsewhere as neither me nor him have the resources to realign.

I was going to say that's not so bad until I read that last one. Ouch. I have driven some odd ball stuff, but not like that. An axle shop might be able to straighten it out, but the part will be weak so I would keep looking. Good luck!

For some reason I was thinking this was a Focus. Even if they are able to repair parts you should replace them as soon as you are able.

If they were Focus family parts, I'd be laughing. There are bucketloads of Mk1s over here, but unfortunately there are hardly any standard Mk2 Mondeos here, let alone ST24s.
